[r8714] Steam offline mode + Singleplayer = 60 second pause @ Connecting screen

(Submitted this through the old PHP bug report form, then found this forum, so apologies to devs for a potential duplicate)

 

Version: 0.12.6 r8714

 

Behavior:

- In Steam offline mode, Loading a single player game pauses for 60 seconds at the Connecting... screen.

- In online mode, single player game does not pause.

 

Expected behavior:

- Putting Steam into offline mode should not affect load times for single player games.

 

Steps to reproduce:

Offline mode

- load/start single player game

- says "starting single player" for a few seconds

- says "connecting..."

** BUG ** sits on this connecting screen for approx 60 seconds

- transitions to "loading..." screen for a few seconds

- says "press space bar to continue"

 

 

online mode

- load/start single player game

- says "starting single player."

- says "connecting..."

** NO BUG ** sits on this connecting screen for just a second or two

- transitions to "loading..." screen for a few seconds

- says "press space bar to continue"

 

Attached client logs for both offline and online attempt.

 

Offline logs appear to show connection timeouts to localhost before things proceed. Online logs don't show this.
