Windows reset service has crashed

Note: I'm finding nothing in the logs on this one.

I'm constantly getting a "Windows reset service has crashed" error while running the dedicated server.

I'm not sure on the time span, but after 10-30 mins, it throws that again. No impact on the game or server, but definitely a result of running the server.

 

Running Windows 10 ( fully up to date)

Server is running in the background. Windows 10 pops up a dialogue stating that windows reset service has stopped working which is causing no noticable issues in avorion or Windows, but is still mildly alarming. I can either close program or debug issue, but it only occurs when running the server.

Does this occur when playing singleplayer, too? I'm assuming you're running the server on the same machine as you've run your singleplayer.

Only if I'm hosting.

I highly doubt that it has anything to do with the Avorion server. Is the server machine idle when running the server? From what I know Windows reset engine usually starts running once a computer has been idle for several minutes. Running the server alone and singleplayer does not have any functional difference. The client starts a server when starting the singleplayer. If it were Avorion-related, you'd get that message when playing singleplayer as well.

Windows logs may be helpful for this.

 

In windows 10:

 

Start-> type in "Event Viewer" -> click Event Viewer -> Windows Logs

 

Look for an error or warning under System and Application at the exact time you see the notification. That information may be useful in determining the root cause.
