A way for you to go to the map and select a few of your ships from a sector and tell them to navigate to another, maybe add a "budget" system so they can use warp gates but once the budget for the trip is done they will use hyper-space drives and jump across space towards their destination.
Sucks backtracking to a miner thats quite a distance away just to grab him and personally escort it to a new sector, the hyper-space drives are great but when it comes to going through the warp gates they take their sweet ass time to catch up to your sector. :D
