Mass Upgrading

Having a button to upgrade all the pieces on a ship to the next resource tier, provided you have the resources would be convenient. As it is, the replace block function works, but replacing more complex structures is tedious.

+1 for this. To take it even further for saved designs it'd be cool if you could have like an iron design but when you choose to make it have it be out of a higher tier parts.

+1, great suggestion. very little reason not to implement it.

Tip: you can edit the XML file of your ship to do this -

replace e.g. all instances of

 

material="0"

with

material="1"

(number depending on current and desired material, obviously)

in your favourite text editor using the replace all function, save the file in %appdata%/Avorion/Ships, restart the game, go to plans, and it should be there for you to apply.

I do that all the time but a pain in the ass even more when I'm recording as I gotta leave the game and come back.
