I'm unclear why galaxy map mode is so different from first person or strategic mode. Why can I not open the player menu and check out my fleet and other things while on the galaxy map? The galaxy map also seems to unload the sector you're in somewhat, at least for rendering, as when dropping back out of galaxy mode it can stutter a bit trying to reload everything it seems. Especially when doing the new 2.0 captain operations, I am always having to drop in and out of galaxy map mode when I want to check even basic things like how many resources I have before I decide what mission parameters to use for a miner. If I could open the player menu in galaxy map and see my resources just like in the other modes this would make things much simpler.
