Crossing the Barrier with a bug.

Take two ships with captains. One with a hyperspace core block made of Xanion, Trinium, or Naonite and (maybe?) a hyperspace subsystem. The other ship has no hyperspace core and no hyper space upgrades. Send the ship without the hyperspace core on a travel mission across the barrier and tell the ship with the hyperspace core to escort it.

They will both travel to the other side of the barrier without completing the quest to open the Gateway or have Avorion building knowledge, or even any Avorion.

 

You can then teleport to the ships and be on the other side of the barrier.

 

Edit:  The player reporting this to me said that they were trying to respond to a distress signal on the other side of the barrier.
