I'll second Tiberiumkyle. It isn't possible to directly give a ship currently. Mats and money, sure. And XML files are easy enough to transfer. Admittedly, it would be nice to have the feature ingame. I believe the alliance/group update coming soon may assist with that.

To the best of my knowledge, NPC traders will come by once and awhile to buy the goods. But only if you're in that sector. This is what I've read, mind you, I haven't personally experimented with stations. Also, one of the updates in the 'near' future is supposed to keep sectors loaded if you have any ships there, so keep that in mind.
