  1. I recently tried to use computer blocks... I dropped that idea, when I realized that I need the volume half of my whole ship to gain one extra system :D

    Shouldn´t destroyer be larger than frigate? In navy its usually the case (US Frigates were usually half the tonnage of US destroyers for example)

  5. Dont lose hope, get back to the sector you have died in, and your turrets and modules will be flying there! I have once lost my best ship when cargo hauler jumped right in front of me in 2000m/s... When I jumped back in the same sector, I found wreck of my ship and few km away from the wreck were all my modules :)
  6. I have an idea... Park your ship exactly 1 km away from station - go to build mode, create 1000 units long block, and place it on front of your ship and you will see how long it really is :)
  7. Yup, noticed something similar - I accidentaly fired my 220dmg canon on station - lost 220 reputation with faction. I mean.. how stupid is that?! When I fly bigger ships, I soon won´t have friends anywhere :D
  8. The basic layout will not be that hard... but man, those fine details on sloped surfaces of the ship, I can see major headache when creating this :D

  10. They should be using "trade routes" basically the same way you can use them, but they seem to be quite slow in my opinion and not very reliable.
  11. I might eventually go for envoy class, its gonna need quite a lot of work, but should be atleast doable.. and looks really great tho :)
  12. so basically huge guided missile huh :D now to think about it, probably best idea would be to create huge ship, made of engines, crew comp and some armor on the front for heavy mass, install velocity unlocker mod, get proper speed (few thousands m/s) and ram into station. Then just salvage debris and profit.. :D

If you look at my second ship (Scarab) you can clearly see difference between glow and mirror https://www.avorion.net/forum/index.php/topic,1612.0.html Glow are the green light parts, and almost all of the rest is made of mirror (reflector ingame) blocks. It is most visible with light source in the background
  14. When pasting multiple block, hold left ALT and move cursor to the block/side/place of your pasting objects - it will try to snap by the selected block. (I probably could word that better, but its too early in the morning here)
  15. These spammy issues are in fact quite solvable. There just needs to be functional baseline dimensions. IE antenna works only if its atleast 1x1 base, and its effect is increased with length. Same for thrusters - thruster works in any direction, only if its atleast 2 blocks deep in that direction and its power will be scaled by surface otherwise, or something like that.   16. Good morning cadets! Let me introduce you newest addition to our honoured Royal Star Fleet ships! As usual, even these new RSF ships are designed in our patented distinct wing shape, utlizing our core philosophy - Why make broadsides, when you can make Broadfront™? Thanks to this approach, all our firepower can be directed the only important way, the way we will always be heading - FORWARD! Although, even our enlightened military leaders had to admit that sometimes it can be useful to aim our massive firepower different way than in direction of flight - so all our ships have so overboosted thrusters, that they can accelerate sideways and backwards even faster than forward. With this ability you can always point your Broadfront™ to the direction of enemy! Now, without any further ado, let me introduce you your first ship you will be flying when you graduate our academy: RSFS Shadow Mk2 http://imgur.com/a/AAV4N RSFS Shadow is backbone of our army. Heavily armed and armored assault corvette, used for prolonged operations in enemy territory. Completely made out of titanium and with superboosted thrusters it is very fast and maneuverable while keeping hefty amount of durability. This is achieved by using extremely lightweight, yet still very durable solar panel blocks instead of hull blocks (1/6 mass with same durability as standard hull block), and heavy armor plating on all important parts of the hull, especially our heavily armed Broadfront™ . Great side effect of this is also abundancy or generated energy, so you don´t have to limit yourself in system usage. All armaments is supposed to be placed on designated armor blocks located on baseline of its wings, granting them great survivability in combat. This way you don´t have to worry about loosing weaponry in firefight. Very beneficial cadet! Well, that was basic ship which every cadet gets. Now some motivation - for more talented of you lot, we have special treat! Captains which prove extreme bravery and skill in face of enemy, will be awarded royal jewel of our fleet: RSFS Scarab! http://imgur.com/a/OFi8X RSFS Scarab is Heavy assault Frigate three times the size of Shadow. Instead of titanium armoring its using only titanium core and thrusters, with naonite generators, shields and very unique naonite reflective outer plating, giving it its distinct dark look. Also, unlike most other ships, Scarab has completely exposed (and fully modeled) main bridge, covered only with shatterproof SpaceGlass, but it relies on very heavy shielding for its class to avoid any structural damage - unless you ram your ship into station or asteroid, but we don´t give Scarabs to dumbasses who can´t properly fly their ships, is it clear cadets?! While definitely bigger and heavier than Shadow, it has two supersized engine/thrusters pods in its wing, giving it even bigger speed, acceleration and maneuverability. It also retains ability to fly sideways almost same speed as forward (without boosting), so you can keep your Broadfront™ aimed on your enemy! Name of the ship is also written on top of wings, and as lot of other parts is properly lit with our national green glow, so together with its reflective coating and sloped angles (because orthogonal angles are for pussies) you can be sure to not be ever overlooked on any party.   18. Hi, my question is quite explained in the title: Is it possible to change difficulty on the fly in my galaxy? I am asking for singleplayer only. I know its not possible by default, but maybe by changing something in some .ini somewhere? Thx for replies
  19. Well for such cases, i would introduce "reinforcements system", if policeman wants to enforce the law and you don´t comply, he could summon few squads of battleships for assistance :)
  20. Yeah, i recently got titanium red triple chaingun, with burst fire property and - 332% damage increase. That thing alone, deals more than 1/3 of my dps (and I have 20 turrets), specifically 82damage with 12 rof... I would love to see more of these :D

  22. Hi, this should not be an issue. Thing is, that you need at least one block to remain after you delete rest of your ship(otherwise it will be destroyed and you will respawn at home sector) so start out by disabling safe mode, and select your whole ship, but leave out atleast one block. Otherwise it should work the same way
  23. 1. select your whole ship except for founding block. 2. Press control+c 3. delete your whole ship (except for founding block!!) 4. press control+v 5. using the same controls for scaling basic blocks, scale your whole ship. When satisfied, insert your ship. 6. Disable safe mode 7. fill the hole in your ship where founding block was 8. remove original founding block. 9. ??? 10. Profit! :D
