  1. Modding is cool, and we definitely want to support it. But please keep in mind that we are only so few people and always work with the code -> Some things that are obvious to us might not be obvious to you guys without it being bad intent on our side ::) So just keep reporting these instances so that we can improve our documentation :)
  2. You may have noticed - the new look for our forum is live! It features a more modern design as well as proper mobile support! I hope you will enjoy it just as much as we do. If you have any questions/suggestions please feel free to voice them :) This is, of course, only a visual update, your posts and post history are unchanged by it. In case you miss the old design you can change it back. Just go to your profile and find the option “look and layout” under the section "modify profile". Click on it and change the current theme to "Avorion". Parallel to the new design for the forum we continued working on the Combat Update part II. It still needs a bit of polishing and testing, but it’s looking really good! Have a nice day!

  5. No, they definitely are not normal. They mean something in that script went wrong and the script is then terminated. The server isn't affected by this, but you as a player may be. So thanks for reporting, we will look into this :)
  6. Q: I can play Multiplayer on other servers fine. But get infinite loading screen when starting a singleplayer/ my own dedicated server. A: Please make sure you don't have any VPN active, all necessary exceptions for your antivirus (take care Windows has an inbuild antivirus that will automatically activate if you deactivate a third party antivirus) and no other known apps that cause complications active. If the problem still persists try starting a dedicated server with the additional command line option "--use-steam-networking 0"
  7. It might be that your problem might be related to Steam networking not working correctly. We don't know exactly what causes this, but you can play with our non-Steam networking protocols, too. Can you please try if that makes a difference in your case? Start a dedicated server with the additional command line option "--use-steam-networking 0" (without the quotes). If you have the same issue it should work fine then. Only problem is, that you wouldn't be able to host a game for other people to join via Steam.

  9. The distress call and the explore sector missions are fixed now. Fixes will be live with the next patch :)
  10. Both of these are currently not planned. Is it something that you find to be gamebreaking? There is a way to move multiple blocks, it just isn't so obvious. You can select the blocks you want to move and save them as a template. After deleting the originals you can put the template to the new position. Added bonus: That way the selection can be rescaled :)

  13. @Gantradies: Do you mean the independent fire mode? That is reset on each log out. As I said in a different thread I will talk with our team about keeping the turret status over logoff. Before the torpedoes it was intentional, but I was convinced that with the torpedoes it is too dangerous to not remember the settings.

  15. With the explore sector one you have to interact with all the boxed things in the sector (so the extra boxes, which usually wouldn't be there). Fly close and press 'F' to inspect. If you inspected all of them the mission should update.

  18. @MrSolve: What do you mean by "stable" version servers? If you are on the beta branch, you should not be able to connect to servers that are on the default branch. It should give you an error message though. And it is usually a good idea to give a server up to 5 min to connect. Especially those with many loaded sectors tend to be a bit slow. @Uthael: Yeah, so sorry, that was my mistake. I've send you an email, thanks again for being persistent :)
  19. This is intended by koonschi as safety guard. If you leave your turrets on autofire, log out and forget about it and then fly into a sector with a faction you want to improve your standings with that would cause you to lose too much. So we thought it is better to have to remember to put them on a mode at the beginning. A bit tedious, but the consequences for forgetting wouldn't be too bad.
  20. Thank you for reporting. This is a known bug that is tied to server performance. Ships with a lot of blocks generate lag because of the complicated physical calculations. We are constantly improving on that, the latest update should have made it better already. This is issue will still be happening, but at least only with larger number of blocks than before.
  21. @Mamif: I see your point, and agree that those ingame voice chats help a lot with RP and tend to generate pretty funny moments. But for us it is hard to write something like that as we have no experience in it. We would never be able to do it better or at least almost as good as a teamspeak, discord or something is already doing it. And our server sizes are usually a lot smaller as well, so it wouldn't be as necessary. I will keep it in mind, but I honestly don't think that we will ever implement it.
  22. It is actually already possible. You can mark your entire ship with Ctrl-A and save it as a template. When you use the template you have all the stretching option as for normal blocks. So pressing A will make the ship wider, S longer etc.
  23. I think I need a bit of extra explanation here. Simple dev here that is juggling the possible coding bits needed to fulfill a request like that :D Would you want changeable color in the same form as the UI (maybe as a separate thing, so that it is independent from UI color itself) or do want the game to change the color of the icon depending on the activity the fighters are doing? Or that the player himself can change the color of the icon in the fighter tab, so that he can mark miners as blue, attackers as red, etc?
  24. Thank you for reporting. Is this happening often? The pirate one only tests if the sector you are in is empty of pirates, is it possible that you overlooked a half dead one?
