  1. while waiting for a proper vanilla solution you folks might want to try this out? Helped alot in fleet management here...
  2. Agreed for Power Cells, never tried Water tho... but ya know:
  3. THANK YOU SOOO MUCH!!! Thought that was an issue with the new ship design, not with the new patch ;D
  4. Who says little pony's just for little girlys? ??? (interesting ship concept anyways... any chance for a voxel fox? ::) )
  5. Beautiful adaption of the design! I kinda struggle atm to make my own new destroyer smaller, but yours is clearly part of the fleet while still being unique and identifiable... nice, Fox approved! 8)
  6. lovely! Great Work on smooth Lines and curves, the Bow section is especially appealing... nice details with the recessed Hangars amd logos and such aswell, all in all an amazing build
  7. Heh, on a positive note, ... ... you might feel honoured to be the first one to be copied? I mean, speaks for the quality, no? :-*
  8. Sad Fox is sad... :'( Was foreseeable, but that was quick... but if the Community is half as dedicated as they did in SE ppl will recognice popular Designs and (in my expierience) shitstorm the comment section of such an individual... I dont see anything bad in a little reminder, often its not intentional bad behaviour but just unarwareness, and it is definetly not asked too much to add 3 words into the comment section, like "made by X", "inspired by Y" or "based on Z"... nevertheless VERY important to use Snapshottool or Website Archive to have proof of your point, because if it actually IS a case of intentional bad behaviour they dont hesitate to use the most rediculously obvious methods you could imagine to hide their tracks...
  9. You are most certainly entitled to your opinion, but it's kind of silly to be against an option to allow it to be visible at all times. Especially if all you have to do is simply NOT show that UI window if you like it how it is now. Being against the "option" though is a lot like being against Taco Bell serving Mountain Dew just because you drink Pepsi. This game is going to revolve heavily on the multiplayer aspect, and pretty much every multiplayer game has the ability to show/hide aspects of the UI. It should definitely be something in the "Settings" and not something the community has to mod in. When I booted up the new beta branch the very first thing I said was "where's my resources?". I want my counter top left. At any rate, everyone should be 100% for as much UI customization as possible (no matter what they like their UI to look like). It will only go to better serve a wider range of demographics and provide a perfect UI for every player. Dont get me wrong, i never was against a toggle option per se, or HUD Customization at all, to grab up your metaphor i simply was concerned to drink Mountain Dew (i guess thats a drink?) before having a chance to read the ingrediences, and trying to serve me both simultanious seems like a waste of effort from Tacco Bell (IMO, as you pointed out, just an opinion)... Ofc i'd love to see as much of individual setup options as one can get! But i also think the effort (how ever big) would be invested more useful in HUD Modding API to leave it to the modders to make "a perfect UI for every player", instead of toggles, checkboxes and whatnot everywhere, since you cant please everyone with one vanilla solution... like, why would Tacco Bell make its own Drinks if there are good ones alrdy out there to import into your shop and sell? Just a matter of setting up a proper rack...
  10. i wondered if its possible/feasible to add a little clickable Dropdown-Menu in front of the Bar when sending a message to choose the /e, /s, /a... groups with the mouse? Basically just one dont have to keep them in mind... as i know myself as soon as i turn away the tutorial hint for it i will forget about them... ::) Nothing drastical, just a little Quality-of-Life-Thingy... Thoughts any1?
  11. I was semi-successfull with this website, converted to blocks only gives you easily measureable templates in terms of aspect ratio... rest is a matter of replacing blocks with angled shapes... maybe your .obj-files are compatible, too? Had to convert some to .stl because it only showed a few loose blocks when loading... Oh, and the .xml output files are not compatible with Avorion (sadly...)... (Currently on beta-branch, so my savegames containing some examples are on backup... will edit them here if i remember later!)
  12. 'TIS HAPPENING!!! Workshop Support finally arrived, sooo... i dont think i keep this updated, for everyone who wants to stay tuned on my ships feel free to follow me here! ;D Just started to set it up, if your favourite ship isnt there yet, keep patient, i'll add all the ships which can be found here one by one... much easier within the Workshop... Guess thats it for this topic, fly safe & cya all in space!
  13. Bug Type: Crash to Desktop Game Type: Main Game (STEAM) Game Version: Beta 0.12 r8487 (Steam Beta Branch) Brief Description: Game crashes if blueprints are selected too fast Detailed Description: The Blueprint Window takes very long for every Ship-Icon to appear... If they get clicked before finishing loading the game crashes back to Windows (maybe coz of too many BPs? Old BPs maybe, since there was a mentioning in decreasing size of these Files in the Patchnotes?). If i wait, lets say half a minute, for everything to be loaded properly, everything works fine... What did you expect to happen(optional)? Expected to be able to select a blueprint. Exact Steps to reproduce: - Start Buildmode - Open the "Saved Ships" Window, and see how every Icon representing the single ships get loaded one by one - while still appearing, click one of the Icons - Find yourself back on Desktop! Client Logfile: https://pastebin.com/Z6BYmYVa Server Logfile: https://pastebin.com/8xk9CKgk System Specs: OS: Win 7 x64 CPU: AuthenticAMD 8 Cores RAM: 16GB GPU: NVIDIA Corporation GeForce GTX 1060 6GB/PCIe/SSE2 OpenGL Version: 4.5 On a sidenote: I find it hard to answer "include crash details"... what details can i tell besides finding myself back on Desktop? Does this refer to the Logfiles? Also not sure if its the client or the server crashing, since no error message appeared... if i had to guess its the client, since the AvorionServer.exe needs some seconds to close after the crash appeared... EDIT: Solved! Thx alot...
  14. Shooting out Updates at Sunday Night? Damn, how many companys you know do THAT!? Great! Effort appreciated, cant wait to try it out!
  15. I dont know what you would mean with vertical and horizontal progression, but for the resources (even tho they have some kind of linear progression regarding HP/Weight ratio) and there special abilitys you should be aware of that it alrdy exists, kinda at least: - As you pointed out, Iron is the starting material, not much special here, besides the fact you can build Inertia Dampeners from Iron and Avorion only, and you would always require Iron to fund ships (outside factorys)... so there is a reason for being attractive while progressing. - Titanium (AFAIK) is not used for the majority of ships besides early game when better ressources simply arent available, but it gets at least a decent usablility in early upgrading, kinda "advanced" starting material, since you get Integrity Fields and Generators with it for the first time... thats an example of what you meant with straight progression and restricting blocks to materials? - Naonite is the first "energy-rich" ressource, which means Hyperjumpdrives and Shield Generators can be made from it... on the other hand it isnt as durable as the former Titanium, so that keeps still a viable option for Armor and Hull... pretty useful until you leave the three beginning "Starter-Tiers"! (I admit i dont see a reason to get back to Titanium or Naonite once you reached the next step, if that was your point...) - Trinium... now things start to get interesting! Not only you get Hangars from it (another example of "getting new blocks as you 'level up'"), its also the lightest material available, thus replacing T2&3 Materials in every aspect... and it stays a viable option until Endgame because of its lightweight - Xanion basically mimics the progression step from Titanium to Naonite on a higher Level, another energy-rich but low-durable Material... (werent computer cores introduced here first? too lazy to check back right now...) - Ogonite is kinda special: Its superheavy, but also an excellent choice for energy systems... also brings the most HP with it, so Stuff made of Ogonite will give you best HP/Volume, but not always best HP/Mass... - and finally Avorion, the red stuff everyone wants... Inertia Dampeners can finally be upgraded and Jumpdrives made of Avorion allow jumping over those instable Rift-stuff that blocks you on the map otherwise... So i'd say yes, there is a good progression and reuseabliity in the current ressource system... maybe Naonite and Titanium could get a little love to be more viable endgame (besides of being way easier to aquire)... what exactly had you in mind to change/improve here? For the "new design of ship depending on the material" part, i guess you know you can upgrade you design "on the fly" with the dropdown in the upper right corner of the Spacebar-Menu in Buildmode? And for upgrading specific blocks within my designs i tend to use this Tool until we get a proper vanilla solution (which is alrdy announced to come with the Alliances Update!)... makes editing your ship towards your needs much easier IMO!
"Beta" deklarieren, odernicht? Insofern: "Learn2read!"
  17. - "I was told size doesnt matter?" - "She lied!" But in this case it shouldnt matter at all? Since the Trinium (lightest material, not highest tier) gave best test results, I mean, might it be that when testing against an big block of armor, no matter what material you use, the size (and thus volumen, and thus the poweroutput) of the thruster was too small to effect the ship as whole? Like, if you can push a little block easier with Trinium Thrusters, you should be able to push a big block easier with Trinium Thrusters aswell, no? Just the effect wont be so noticeable compared... or me on a wrong track here? EDIT: On a sidenote i'd like to remind that your choice of omnithrusters/directionalthrusters/gyros might also be affected by how much you want to go for side-strafing capabilitys besides Yaw/Pitch/Roll, which sadly isnt included into the stats screen... no gain from gyros here
  18. Uhm... how to justify shameless self-pushing without anything interesting to report? Yeah, i know! With a question, kinda: "What do you folks think, worth going further the road of shipish-like ships? Found these:" on DeviantArt, and in attempting to steal another design i made this from it: Needs some polish, i know, me still not happy with the engines, and overall its just a first concept without functional blocks yet, but i think i like the shape, and there are a few variants i could come up with... was worth building anyways, since i learned alot about angled shapes, which hopefully help another bit in getting away from blocky LEGO© Designs... As i mentioned in my last note, i completed the Mainstory in the meanwhile, so expect more Ogonite and Avorion in upcomming designs... if i ever get something together worth sharing... i guess we see us on Steam Workshop next, fly safe all nevertheless! ::)
  19. great documentary, nice ship, and a good read overall, ty 4 sharing! You found this section alrdy i guess?
  20. Uhm, where exactly to add that line? If i try Steam - rightclick on Avorion - Properties - Starting Options and add that my game wont open anymore? EDIT: Nvm, there are two "--" ! Working as expected, ty!! :P
  21. Hi and welcome! Abit in hurry right now, so i keep it short: Gameready Destiny to look at (.xml in description): How to make easy rounding (german video tho, but shows basics): How to make nice rounding (helpful picture from Steam-Forums): [spoiler=Click me hardest!] Hope this gives you an idea! ;D
