  1. Also i've found if you copy groups of blocks and do any rescaling to them it'll throw the block ratios off. Adding 1 scale step when pasting two 1x1x1 blocks gives you 1.25x1x1 blocks which no longer match your scaling. For this reason when i build a ship I'm trying to make changes to the original save in it's original scale.
  2. I think most of this is already possible with the exception of #4. 1. I think is difficult because of the nature of turret factories and the investment required to produce 1 let alone 40 of a turret that fits your requirements. The important things I look for may be a slow firing rail gun or a burst fire chaingun that overheats. That stuff isn't possible in the turret factory. 2. I like the loot collecting and excitement of getting an upgrade to one of my 40 same-type turrets. I'd hope it wouldn't be too easy to just pop 40 of the exact same turret on my ship and switch types whenever I wanted. Instead I have a collection of turrets that I build on. This i think is balanced really well right now. 3. Yeah I do want bigger turrets.... muuuuch bigger. My ship right now keeps growing but my turrets do not. Using block-middle snap the space around them keeps getting bigger and bigger. I'd like maybe multi-slot turrets that were much bigger that you could showcase on your ship. Maybe if a turret took up 4 slots it could be 2x as big and do 2x the damage but retain stats like tracking that balance it out. Maybe optionally choose how many slots you want a turret to fill?? =P This would actually help #2 as well since the more slots one turret takes the fewer matching turrets you'll need to find. 4. Right now? No.. but if #3 became a thing then #4 might end up becoming more important. A big turret that was very noticeable might become a sore spot if it wasn't customizable. Especially since that's such a huge aspect of the game. One thing I sort of wish for right now is tracking speed. Or maybe that's just something that'll get smoothed out later. But if my turrets are capable of tracking 90deg in 1 sec they should be able to aquire a target and keep that target while i swing my hulking battleship around to face.
  3. Also if you have nothing selected and click the merge button it'll behave as if you had everything selected. And if they're different colors they won't merge so you can assign odd colors to stuff you don't want to merge.
  4. I'm glad i came across this thread. I ran in to this issue over the weekend. Spent quite a long time playing with the available blocks and mirroring. And realized it was going to be impossible. Hopefully it comes soon!
  5. I was recently noticing how rewarding some of the later drops become. Certain ships drop higher quality and number of items later on. In the loading screen tips iirc it does mention mining ships drop mining/salvage lasers more frequently and pirate ships drop more regular turrets. The game's doing a pretty good job of rewarding killing lots of pirates searching for a nice drop of a turret type you want. The only balance issue i really am noticing is that drop rates seem to be per block destroyed like you mention. However later on I notice that ships are still similarly distributed between big blocky and lots of small blocks. You can still find some good loot pinatas. When you do find one it certainly makes it feel less rewarding to get the big blocky types.
  6. Sorry if this has been suggested before. Just thinking that maybe a balance of aesthetics and volume can be achieved if you have a thruster port block that attaches or otherwise links to a thruster fuel or base block. That way you can maintain a more realistic approach to design without punishing people. In my case the most vulnerable part of my ship seems to be thrusters. I just found out apparently you can cover them up and they'll still work. Which i'll obviously do. We'll see if they will show through the blocks covering them up or not. Basically i've spent a lot of time limping back to repair or otherwise waiting 30 seconds before repairing mid-fight and re-entering because thrusters were destroyed and I couldn't effectively target enemies. I'd suggest giving each port a maximum thrust so you couldn't just have a ton of volume in the base block and a single port/nozzle in on each axis.
