Server looks like it starts fine. Make sure you add the inbound rule to your servers firewall for the ports.

Silly question but have you tried restarting the whole box?

Your laptop will be fine. I run a server on a 2 core 6gb ram server and it utilizez maybe 20% of that with 5 people online. Its a very small game in its current state. To answer the third question you can start/stop the server whenever you feel like. I posted a nice server guide under the "Mods" section if you want to check it out.

I will be going through the wiki most of today cleaning up and adding as much as I can. Lets keep it simple and relevant guys.

Does it make a new player profile every time you restart the server now? My server would make a new player profile every single time server was restarted. The way I stated earlier was only was I was able to replicate issue.

I'm working on a very easy to use server set up. Hopefully have it posted to the wiki later today.

To clarify. If you look at the bottom of specific turrets the actually say "Independent Targeting" If you find one you can toggle it by holding shift and clicking the picture of the turret right above where your Health, Shield, Power bars are at the bottom. let me know if that helps.

Could you post logs from a server this issues was happening on?

So I just restarted the server completely with all new files and it resolved the issues. I'm able to replicate it if I try transferring player data from another server. Doesn't seem to like that and will continue to make new profiles every time you login afterwards. So I will just be careful and wait til there is a better way to transfer player data (aka: backup player saves.) Great game and I'm looking forward to hosting a server for everyone!

I see every .dat folder from every login. Could it be on how i start my server? This is my server.bat bin\AvorionServer.exe --galaxy-name avorion_galaxy --admin Naggerknife

so i can see the switch in previous logs from when i switched and steam ports worked. After i started launching with steam though you can see in most recent logs it started making new player files for me everytime i tried logging in.

titles says it all. When i restart my server it doesnt seem to load player profiles and makes them a new one every time. Any explanation? Thanks!
