  1. My first couple (weaker) starting designs relied on several cheap layers of ablative armor on the nose so I could ram most enemies, then the turrets mounted on top. Another option is to have turrets on top of towers to give them more range to fire, but you need to be careful to both armor the sides of the towers and to keep the turret on the central hull piece so that if the armor is shot off, the turret isn't destroyed too. Now that I have shields I rely less on nose armor but keep my ships somewhat narrow to avoid fire while picking thing off either from long range or on high speed runs.
  2. Hey, can you post a new link or one that doesn't expire?
  3. Okay, this ship is HUGE. It is a 1:1 scale UNS Battleplate "Tunguska" from the series Schlock Mercenary 10,371,362,793 credits 46,119,616 Ogonite 632,894,126 Avorion 1.28 billion hull 437 million shield ~27 billion m3 1.16 Gt Requires nearly 1 million crew and 330,425,050 Cr upkeep. Steam Workshop link You will probably need creative mode and some modded extended range weapons to actually use it, but you can suppress an entire sector with one of these. Anything you cannot kill immediately you can either outlast with 400,000,000+ shields or you can let them bounce off of your hull with minimal damage. You will also need to stack some hyperspace cooldown modules so you don't have to wait almost two hours to recharge. On the other hand it only takes three jumps to the core. Have fun! 4. If you want to mod it yourself out might be easier to make a -100% cooldown module. The cooldowns on extremely large ships can get pretty ridiculous
  5. Hi all, Is it possible to change the direction of a placed block while keeping the current dimensions? For example, if iI have a 20x40x30 directional thruster deep inside my ship that acts along the x axis. Is there a way to rotate it so that keeps its current position and physical dimensions but instead acts on the y axis? Right now I am copying and deleting the placed block, pasting it outside my ship, copying it again, rotating, checking 'match block' and pasting on top of the other block, disabling 'match block', copying the third block, zooming inside my ship, and trying to stick it where the first block was. Possible, but a pain. Thanks.
  6. I will start my shipyard with the Vagyr Assault Frigate from Homeworld 2. 58838 Credits, 12475 Iron, 3533 Titanium 250m long, 1.16 mil m3 Basic Iron/Titanium construction with room for to add or swap components included under the armor. I know a few others are working on some Homeworld ships and I really look forward to seeing them. Hopefully this measures up to those! Steam Workshop link VaygrAssaultFrigate.zip
