Suggestion

In Avorion, the only type of guns are rotatable turrets that follow the mouse.

Now, my suggestion is inspired from Halo.

In Halo lore, humanity uses a special type of gun in big space battles.

They use a massive gun called a Magnetic Accelerator Cannon.

A Magnetic Accelerator Cannon, or MAC for short, is basically a huge rail gun, similar to what the US Army just tested out recently.

These cannons are so huge, that usually the ship is designed around the thing, kinda like how the A10-Warthog is designed around its mini-gun.

Because it's so huge, that it's required to aim the whole ship to get it onto target.

Because it's so huge, it requires huge quantities of power to fire it, it only shoots around 2 rounds a minute and that it takes time to 'charge' to fire it.

I believe that adding something similar to a MAC cannon,  or a weapon system that allows you to make something similar in-game, would allow people to have more creative, and make awesome ships.

In the road map one of the features the devs intended to implement is Coaxial weapons that are integrated into the ship, so things like the MAC are coming, just give it time

That is true, but it depends on how they implement it.

How big is it going to be? What is it going to look like? Will it be customizable in a similar way to 'From the Depths?'

Question like these come to mind.

If i had to guess, it will be a multiblock, and will probably scale depending on each block's dimensions, like if the magnetic accelerators are larger, higher power draw and faster velocity and impact damage. it will probably be kept relativly simple compared to from the depths.
