  1. MY reply to this from another post apply perfectly here as well. I agree and I wouldn't mind if ships 13-15 slots moved slower and maneuvered slower as well. The problem is, is that size progression is to fast. You typically start out with a ship that is gynormious and requires any where from 12-30 crew. Are space station don't even support that many yet!! And you rapidly climb from there with in 30 to 40 minutes you have a ship with a crew of 70-100. On this level you are essentially already a small capital ship. You never have the filling of being a fighter and you never really fell the sense of becoming a big ship, your just thrown into it. So when your vessel starts not being controllable you never understand why. This is what happened and why every one was upset. As you have pointed out and I believe most are starting to want now is the great joy and slowness of a full on Masive ship and things will need to be changed again. There are a few thing that need to happen tho before this fix can happen. 1 THE ABSOLUTE MOST IMPORTANT A single capital weapon needs to deal A massive amount damage compared to smaller Vessels and the weapon needs to feel like a massive weapon as well. other wise it will always be better to have a 10-11 slot ship with all the weapons pointed in one direction. 2 Players need to start out as a fighter on the scale of 0.01 and Npc should as well. In truth there should be very few Npc vessels with over 50 crew. Remember how it felt to see Battle ships in freelancer? or the X series? they were behemoths you could actually fly into. We need to have that aw here and slowly work are way up to getting a larger ship so we appreciate the slowness. 3 Small, medium, and large ships need to all have there place in end game content. A bomber of 0.05 scale armed with torpedoes should be a deadly threat to battle ships so fighters are needed. A light cruiser should have fast aiming low damage guns that rip fighters apart clearing the way for bombers but is not armed or fast enough to evaded the massive weapons of a capital ship so at the same time it has to stay out of range. So on and so forth something like World of Warships. If this is done we can see this beautiful change with out it being the death nail to this game other wise you will just pee off 90% of the player base.
  2. C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Avorion\galaxies 'Username' is = to your username also you have to make invisible folders visible https://wordaddins.com/support/how-to-make-hidden-files-and-folders-visible/
  3. You can already just shift + click on the item in your inventory and it gets linked in chat.
  4. you can drop by making a ship then turning off safe mode and deleting the core block :P On a serious note though you can email witch works well. And it would be nice to see some type of trade interface.
  5. LOL I can't believe this topic is still going. Its a really bad suggestion and I know it because it would just damage the game without fixing the core problems. It would be much better to have randomly generated effects like borderlands dose tho. The modules are great for instant respeck but they are to rigid and thus make things way to easy to exploit. If all effects were randomly generated from a pool of lets say 50+ possible effects with each tire allowing 1 more effect per a module looting rare+ modules would be EPIC! This of course means Blue and up modules would have to be MUCH more rare.
  6. Wrong! The dev said NO! http://www.avorion.net/forum/index.php/topic,2595.0.html He will not implant ship block based weapons.
  7. You are forgetting most of those loot floating around are from ppl who were killed while they are off line. It would not be fair or fun to have your ship blown up and loot stolen while you can't do any thing about it! I believe a lot of this problem will be fixed when safe sectors are implanted. Then after that maybe a time of 1 full day (24H) after they drop they are available but not before then.
  8. I personally use my MDKell account to buy all my games and use fam share to play all of them on LordMaddog. I do this because I have lost games to BS bans for using SweetFX/Reashade and my PlayStation 4 controller app. One of the main reasons I hate steam!
  9. I have always thought weapons should work something like that. It's kinda a duh common sense thing but no game I have ever see actually dose it lol.
  10. click on the attachment file right under the big picture
  11. Two hundred And fifty years ago a catastrophic event swept across the entire galaxy destroying countless worlds and creating giant rifts in space and time. Large portions of the galaxy were cut off from each other leaving billions strand with no communication or ways to contact the rest of the galaxy. While the survivors railed from this devastating event a new alien race suddenly appeared and attacked without provocation, harvesting world after world leaving nothing in their wake but fine particles of dust. In sheer terror the galaxies inhabitants fled to the stars and gathering in small clumps of a defendable remote regions of space they prayed the aliens would never find them. But as these small factions waited for unavoidable extinction all was not lost. These aliens brought with them advance technology and a strange new material known only as Avorion. This new highly volatile element was capable of producing energy like none had ever seen before and using its amazing properties the survivors constructed a communication device that could break through the rifts and contact the rest of the galaxy. The response was ominous the destruction they had witnessed and the sheer overwhelming number of aliens was present throughout the rest of the galaxy. But there was still a glimmer of hope for they learned of a procedure in which a sentient being could be molecularly fused together with crystalline Avorion giving them the ability to open small wormholes in space. Those who underwent this procedure were known as the Quasar. However only one in every billion were compatible with this procedure and you are one such person. Story begins "Yes you heard right the test has returned and you are compatible. There’s a shuttle waiting for you at the docking port as we speak to ferry you to a small remote research station." Player responses 1 what right now? 2 Oh, why not perform the procedure here? 3 okay I’m on my way. > (Responses with > at the end of them progress the conversation.) Answers. 1 Yes there’s no time like the present. 2 Avorion is highly volatile and crystalline Avorion even more so. It is best to keep it away from other stations as far as possible. 3 All right. The player finds himself in control of the small shuttle. They are given the basic tutorial of how to turn, move, boost, and enter cruise mode. Then is directed to follow the trade lane to the jump gate which will take them to the remote region in which the research station lies. Once they reach the station they are instructed on how to dock and enter the station. NPC in white medical overcoat: "Ah, there you are my name is Johnson and I will be overseeing your procedure we will begin as soon as you’re ready. Any questions." Player responses. 1 what exactly are you going to do to me? 2 will this be dangerous? 3 I’m not sure I want to go with through this. 4 I’m ready, make me a Quasar. > Johnson’s answers. 1 That’s a bit complicated and to be honest none of us here understand the science behind it ourselves so I’m afraid there’s not much I can tell you about it. 2 On you know for most people however its fatal. 3 You don’t have a choice. By galactic concessions anyone found compatible must undergo the procedure regardless of whether they want to or not. If necessary we will sedate you. 4 good let’s get started. The player now creates their character and chooses their difficulty. Easy The operation was an amazing success and you are able to open wormholes in space with far more ease than most enabling you upon defeat to save not only your resources, modules, and turrets but your cargo as well. However there is constantly small thumb size wormholes opening up around you causing others to be very nervous when talking to you and reducing your positive relationship gains in half. Normal The operation was success. You’re now able to open small dimensional warps in space at will and upon defeat you’re able to save your resources, modules, and turrets but like most Quasar saving your cargo was beyond your ability. Medium The operation had minor complication. While you are able to open wormholes you find it a little harder than most and upon defeat you have to choose whether to save your resources, or your modules and turrets. Hard The operation was an utter disaster. You are barely able to open wormholes at all and saving your resources or modules at defeat is far beyond your capabilities. Out of the kindness of their heart though, the staff of the research station pulled together to give you some money and some blueprints to help you get started. On top of this crystalline Avorion seems to positively affect you at twice the rate of most Quasar. Hard-core The tests were wrong and you are not a Quasar nor can you be one. As such you are a normal human and at defeat you die permanently just like everyone else. To gather resources you must have a cargo hold and to build or repair ship you must be at a shipyard. And because you are not a Quasar there is no storyline for you either. Thankfully though your father was a rich merchant and you have a hefty sum of money and quite a few blueprints to help you on your way. Johnson: “Ah, you’re finally awake. As you can see we’ve already deposited you back in your shuttle. I know it might seem a bit forward of us to do so but there has been more than one case where new Quasar accidentally opened a wormhole into space while inside a station so you can understand why we took our liberties. That being said why don’t you try out your new abilities? “I’ve installed a small turret on your shuttle all you have to do is point and shoot it at one of the small asteroids floating around. As you attack small parts of it will break off in these chunks is resources typically iron but you can sometimes get lucky and find others as well. To collect them all you have to do is think about it and small wormholes will open up sucking them into your own personal stash that floats somewhere in the lost dimensions of space.” Player gathers resources by shooting at asteroids. Johnson: “Good keep at it until you gathered at least six hundred iron. Then when you’re ready push the button on the dash and use the interface design your own ship.” Player is given basic building tutorial. Johnson: “Now once you’re done push the construct ship button on interface. It will close and your body will naturally produce a wormhole from which the construction machine we have installed in your personal stash will extrude one of its many construction tentacles using the resources at hand to construct the vehicle. “It may take a little bit of time and as your powers grow you will be able to open multiple wormholes enabling your construction machine to use more of its tentacles speeding up the repair and building process.” Player builds ship and flies around for a few moments. Incoming transmission, a man in a military uniform: “I’m sorry Quasar to interrupt I realize you are still in the middle of your training. But an escaped convict broke out of one of our penal colonies and is headed your way in a stolen ship. Would you intercept and take care of him for us?” Player responses. 1 Take care of? 2 What’s his crime? 3 Sure I’ll get him.> The man in the military uniform answers. 1 We would prefer that you retrieve him alive but I’m afraid that the ship he stole has no escape pods so that may not be possible. 2 He’s a pirate and a murdering scum. 3 Thank you sending intercept course now. Player chases down and shoots the convict ship until it’s almost destroyed. Gnarled looking man: “Wait! Stop! There’s a pirate base out this direction. I’m its captain, if you let me go I’ll make it worth your while." Player responses. 1 No you will pay for your wicked deeds. >( Fame.) Fame: is gained by fending off pirates and aliens, running missions, trading cargo, and various other deeds accepted by society. But having fame alone is not enough to have normal people want to join your crew you also have to be in good faction standing with the trade post or station you are trying to recruit from.) 2 Sounds like you got yourself a deal. > (Infamy) Infamy: is gained by the act of nefarious deeds like stealing cargo attacking random ships and all-around devious acts of privateering. As your infamy grows pirates and smugglers will be willing to join your crew however these deviants of society will want their share of the loot. 25% of all profit and every now and then they will take a random module or turret for their own.) 3 How exactly will you make it worth my while? If you are like this and would like me to continue writing I will. I have an entire storyline for the game worked out in my mind but I would like to see if anyone's even interested before I continue.
  12. for trading system http://www.avorion.net/forum/index.php/topic,2252.0.html Post on docking http://www.avorion.net/forum/index.php/topic,2609.0.html Detail turret info http://www.avorion.net/forum/index.php/topic,1635.0.html Mod to turn off shields effect http://www.avorion.net/forum/index.php/topic,2655.msg14045.html#msg14045 Hope this help some.
  13. Your turrets tracking speed is slow and there is a safety mechanic that stops them from firing unless pointed in the right direction. you can see you turrets tracking speed using this mod https://steamcommunity.com/app/445220/discussions/5/135508489635591608/ forum post https://www.avorion.net/forum/index.php?topic=1635.0
  14. They DO level automatically over time all the way to lvl3 witch about 1.75 productivity. No training needed.
  15. http://www.avorion.net/forum/index.php/topic,2650.0.html
  16. Ya like having multiple fleets. Being half way across the map and having the message your Railgun factory S is underattack flash up and getting back to find it destroyed with both of your capital ships in the sector just floating around like nothing happen is BS.
  17. yes this work perfect with my docking suggestion http://www.avorion.net/forum/index.php/topic,2609.0.html
  18. Wrong they do have an upkeep a massive amount of permanent energy drawl but energy means nothing atm lol. just plop more gens down.
  19. Already have a thread along this line. http://www.avorion.net/forum/index.php/topic,2595.0.html
  20. HI and Gratz on buying the game and yes I too was supersized at how awesome this game is. You will also be very pleased to know the dev is amazing as well so you can bet good stuff is coming. :)
  21. No. Right now the game AI suck, shield vs dameg is massively unbalanced and after you get to 10-20k tritium you never have to worry about dieing even on the highest difficulty. Even more so if you throw on a shield module or two. Once you get to about 40k Xanion it becomes all about + turret modules with all other modules just equip for a few minutes then unequipped. However with the mediocre combat the rest of the game is quite fun. Iv spent hours building a ecosystem of stations and endless hours making ships. The exploration is pretty good as well.
  22. Teleporters are in the game you can buy them as a commodity. Thus it only makes sense to let players to switch/ teleport to their other ships. Allowing this would make the game a lot more fun.
  23. As it stands right now you can. Be invincible: stack any 4 shield modules with 25% regain shield when shields fall and boom you CAN't die. Instant hyperdrive cool down: stack any 4 -25% CD hyperdrive and boom instant CD. Jump half of the galaxy map in one jump: just stack hyperdrive modules. I have made 107 sector jumps none stop before. Infinite scanner range: Infinite mass scanner range: And the list goes on and on. If my suggestion for turrets was implanted This would work quite well to kill the Bigger is better meta and fix a lot of the over powered problems. It also means scout ships with low mass would be usefull to jump from sector to sector looking for viable trade roots then the player would switch back to His/hers Behemoth and jump.
  24. Agreed! I tell you that's not the worst of it tho. One time I was docked at a space station and this happen forcing my whole 2 kilometer ship to turn in the offending Destroyers direction destroying the space station. Taking my faction from admired to Hatefull and almost destroying my ship at the same time!
  25. Sadly it not that simple any cheater worth his salt is not easy to detect and the more that becomes client side the easier it is to hide said cheat. Eventually the cheats will be posted on this site http://www.mpgh.net/forum/index.php and others like it and 20% of your server pop before you know it is using the cheats. :( The game will be unplayable. Not only this the more that things become client side simple mods that are OP can be used as well! On top of all this the server can't mod the game the way they want either because that means every one who tries to join will have to have exactly the same changes made on there side that the server has.
