Persistent univers and risks it implies

Hi,

 

We are running a dedicated server and start too have more and more people playing on it, but it appear that when players log of, their ships will stay in the universe.

So we have to place our ships in a safe place before logging off, but is there a way to define safe zone where no pirate will ever enter or where ship will not be destructible ??? because they become easy target for anybody while player are not online.

The minimum would be an AI that take control of the ship to defend it.

 

What can we do about this kind of problems ? is there some features planned or available about that ?

Is there a way (mods ?) to add more administrative features ?

There was mention in the patch notes today, they are planning to add safe zones at some point.

Player Groups (see players from the same group on the map and in sectors)

No-Flight-Support mode

Regeneration of broken docks

Console interface for windows dedicated servers

Respawn sector changing
