  1. Well, you can enter lines of lua in chat and cheat that way :V
  2. Are you sure you weren't trying to buy a fighter?
  3. It was the easiest "programming" I've done recently ;) (also, fixed something in the mod - put comment end in the wrong place)
  4. Here you go: http://www.avorion.net/forum/index.php/topic,767.0.html
  5. A simple mod to fix a frustration many people seem to have: hyperspace blockers! This simply disables the hyperspace jamming they do. The blockers still spawn, they just don't block you anymore! Works retroactively on blockers already present (on server restart), so yes, you can use it to save your butt :) Installation: copy the blocker.lua attached to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Avorion\data\scripts\entity\ (overwrite the one already present) blocker.lua
  6. Zoom all the way out (scrolling) for system map, your ship has a green box around it - select with middle click
  7. That's cargo, but by default you don't pick up stolen cargo (as you can get fined for carrying it near other ships) - changeable somewhere in ship menu
  8. 2. I think certain types of station can only be built there (mines) 3. There should be a new icon in the menu top-right when you equip the upgrade Resources they collect get added to your inventory when they're mined, even by AI ships. But they do stop mining after (by default, changeable in server settings) 5 minutes after the player leaves the system (and is not in a connected system either) when the sector unloads.
  9. Your ship doesn't need to be a match if you're fast enough :) And you shouldn't worry to much about antagonising pirates - they're pirates :P
  10. Well, if it's singleplayer or your server there should be a way to fix it with scripting... *makes note to look into this this evening after work*
  11. FYI, you're not obliged to pay the fine, you can fight or run
  12. And hidden systems are yellow blips on the map after you've done so :)
  13. Battlecruiser is from StarCraft, not Star Wars :V
  14. Relevancy bump for release as I haven't gotten around to putting it on the wiki yet
  15. Battlecruiser - Avorion edition XML link Much pew, so kaboom
  16. Not disagreeing, but tip: even in a drone you can travel to other systems (either via hyperspace jumps or via jumpgates), go find one that still has resource asteroids, it'll save you a lot of time
  17. If you unlock mouse pointer with shift, you can select your own ship (middle click) and see how fast you go in the stats down right.
  18. I'm fairly sure there are easier ways to do what you did there :P Anyway, I'm trying to make this, so yes, I think it's hard: :V Aw. Okay then, to the edge tool /o/
  19. R for rotate, X, Y and Z to mirror around X, Y and Z axis. Also, F1 shows all keyboard shortcuts for the building menu.
  20. The more you put in, the better stuff you get (if you put in the max amount of turrets you're guaranteed one of a higher rarity iirc) Turrets scale with material - Avorion turrets are gigantic, iron turrets tiny They jump with their own range at most, which you can extend with system upgrades and hyperspace core blocks to be as large as yours. Thruster capacity is currently related to surface, not volume. (that's gonna change in the future) Also, I'm fairly sure you can hide thrusters by putting something on top of them and they'd still work. There are also repair turrets (for shield and hull)
  21. Avorion works fine on my Intel laptop... And if it bluescreens, the reason for the crash has a fair chance of not being in the logs - after all, it can't write anything to the log after your pc BOD'd. Does it happen every time?
  22. For the same reason creative mode exists, because some people just like building big stuff :P
  23. It would be nice if the editor had support for rotating blocks other degrees than 90, or if some kind of diagonal plane/block was predefined - as of now it's very hard to make diagonal elements. (you can kind of cheat them by making a staircase of edge blocks, but that's both fiddly and laborious)
  24. You can find system upgrades (they look like SD cards when you find them) by buying them or looting them. Some of those are turret upgrades, increasing your amount of allowed armed/unarmed/both turrets. You equip those in the ship menu. By default you can have 1 armed, 1 unarmed and 1 undetermined turret. (so 1 armed and 2 unarmed or 2 armed and 1 unarmed) (armed = weapon, unarmed = mining/salvaging/support/...)
